Puzzle Alzheimer
10/13/2014 3:43:23 AM

7 Bad Breath Remedies 416x300 7 Bad Breath RemediesWhether you wake up with bad breath occasionally or you experience it most of the time, bad breath can be frustrating and embarrassing. Halitosis, the medical term for bad breath, can be caused by a variety of factors. These bad breath remedies can help you to treat the root cause of the odor to be confident in your fresh breath all day long.
Rule out any underlying conditions
Sometimes, bad breath can be caused by conditions involving the oral cavity, respiratory tract, and even gastrointestinal tract. Oral diseases like periodontitis and gingivitis often contribute to halitosis. In one study, 57.4% of 94 patients with halitosis had a diagnosable gastrointestinal disorder that contributed to their bad breath. Serious conditions like liver or kidney disease can also cause bad breath.[1] Consult your dentist and doctor to rule out any of these underlying conditions.

Malaise, anxiété, déprime
10/8/2014 11:00:12 PM

Organic Milk Vs. Regular Milk: Does it Really Matter?

Organic Milk Vs Regular Milk Does it Really Matter 416x312 Organic Milk Vs. Regular Milk: Does it Really Matter? Have you ever stood at the grocery store and wondered whether that product labeled "organic" is actually worth the significantly higher price tag? Most people who buy organic do so to avoid exposure to things like pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and growth-promoting chemicals. But what if some organic products also offered more nutritious content?
Recent research on organic milk vs. regular milk shows just that: Organic milk contains a healthier ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, which is important for a variety of health conditions.
The omega-6/omega-3 ratio
While fats used to have a bad reputation, we now know that certain forms of fat are good for us. Both omega-3 and omega-6 are essential fatty acids, meaning your body needs these nutrients to survive but cannot make them itself. In general, most people have diets that contain too little omega-3s and too many omega-6s.
You've likely heard of taking fish oil or another omega-3 supplement to improve your health. Omega-3s are beneficial for conditions like heart disease, arthritis, dementia, depression, and diabetes. There is especially strong evidence for the use of omega-3 fatty acids in lowering triglycerides, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.[1]
Omega-6 fatty acids are abundant in many popular cooking oils, including soybean, corn, and canola. These oils are used very often, which results in excess omega-6 fatty acids in the diet and adverse health effects. The ratio of omega-6 fatty acids to omega-3 fatty acids is important for your health: You should be eating less omega-6 and more omega-3 fatty acids to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic disease, and being overweight.[2]

Find Natural Migraine Relief Using Non-invasive Electrical Stimulation

Find Natural Migraine Relief Using Noninvasive Electrical Stimulation 416x276 Find Natural Migraine Relief Using Non invasive Electrical StimulationHave you tried everything to get rid of your headaches? While pharmaceuticals, lifestyle changes, and supplements may help for some, migraines often don't respond to treatment and can become persistent and debilitating. Most drugs used to treat migraines come with high rates of side effects, and people with chronic headaches are often resistant or tolerant to these drugs.[1]
Alternative options are desperately needed for migraine sufferers. Studies have investigated technologies that stimulate the brain with electrical impulses (neurostimulation) as a way to prevent and treat migraines. Non-invasive, portable devices have even been developed for at-home use. So far, research shows that these devices can be extremely effective at providing drug-free, natural migraine relief.

What is neurostimulation?
Nerve cells, or neurons, communicate with each other by generating electrical signals. Neurostimulation uses electrical impulses from a machine to activate neurons. Some forms of neurostimulation require surgery, as electrodes can be placed deep in the brain to stimulate specific sets of nerves for a specific purpose. For example, patients with Parkinson's respond well to deep brain stimulation that activates neurons related to movement.
However, there are also techniques that are completely non-invasive and use electrodes placed on the scalp. In the last decade, methods of neurostimulation have been developed for managing pain.[2] Specifically, some researchers have looked at the use of neurostimulation for preventing and managing migraine and headache pain.
